Who We Are – How We Do It!

Cisco T Productions is the brainchild of Tony Smith aka "Cisco" who embarked on his musical journey in 1977 as a DJ at Boston University. He played at school parties until he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1978 where he took his DJ skills overseas and DJ’ed in clubs in Japan, Korea, and Greece. While assigned in Greece he hosted a local radio program that showcased his hip hop and R&B mixed tapes. He also provided mixed tapes for the local jazz broadcast as well.

In 1990, Cisco returned to the United States and started accumulating sound gear to do parties at the many NCO Clubs in the Washington Metropolitan area. He then began providing sound for local talent shows and worked with a local artist management company developing rappers and R&B singers. During this period he got his first opportunity in the recording studio and produced remixes for two of the artists.

After many years of building sound systems for his mobile DJ gigs Cisco enrolled in the Sound Reinforcement for Live Performance Course at The Omega Studios' School of applied Recording Arts and Sciences in Rockville, MD. The rest is history.

Cisco walked into a job as a fulltime Audio Visual Technician and more impressively landed a job installing and maintaining a sound and light system in The Eagle’s Nest in Odenton, MD which he later upgraded to allow conversion for live sound reinforcement. There he was the Front of House engineer for local artists. This venue gave him his first opportunity to mix for national recording artists Jeane Carne and Michael Henderson. When the owner of the Eagle’s Nest moved to Rapture Live a live entertainment venue in Jessup, MD, Cisco was tasked to install the Live Sound Reinforcement system for this larger venue. At this venue he worked as mix engineer and assisted on Special EFX featuring Chielli Manuchi, Euge Groove, Steve Cole, and Norman Brown. He was assigned as FOH engineer for the club and mixed FOH for Wayne Henderson’s Jazz Crusaders, Jimmy McGriff, Ms. Dupree, Shaniece S. James, Angela Bofil, Aaron Broadus, The Monday Night Big Band, Bob Baldwin, Chuck Loeb, The Fuzz Band, Art Sherrod Jr., Kim Waters, and Pieces of a Dream. Most recently Cisco performed as FOH engineer for the Sounds of Summer Concert Series at the National Harbor in Prince Georges County.
